Terms of use and community guidelines

Version 2026-10-15. When your department turns these terms on, you accept them in the app before you can post in Chat, and again when they change.

Who may use the app

The app is for members invited by a participating fire department. Your department controls who is a member and what you can see and do.

What is not allowed

Who can see what you post

Messages in a channel are visible to that channel's members. Chat administrators see a message only if they are in that channel or someone reports it. Direct messages are visible to their participants. If a participant reports a direct message, they choose to share their copy of it with your department's chat administrators for review; that copy is kept as a record but is not shown again after review.

Reporting and blocking

Each message from another member has a Report action, and a direct conversation has Report member. Chat administrators can see who reported. You can block a member in direct and unofficial conversations: blocking closes direct conversations with that person, and you stop receiving their messages and notifications in group conversations. A notification already delivered to a device cannot be recalled. Blocking does not affect official department channels, and it never stops operational alerts or critical notifications from your department.

What we may do

Chat administrators review reports and may remove messages in channels (direct messages cannot be removed by administrators; a reported direct message can only be referred or dismissed), refer a member to the department, or mark a report as escalated for follow-up within your department. Your department may suspend a member. Content may be retained for audit purposes as described in the privacy policy.

Not an emergency system

Chat and alerts are operational tools, not a dispatch system. Delivery and timing are not guaranteed. In an emergency call 9-1-1.
